About us

Things are Electric emerged from the KSJ Design Studio in Melbourne Australia, in 2012. The principal creative and head designer, Kate Sellars-Jones desired a shift from 'products' to an art focused practice with an emphasis on painting, illustration & print design.

What has flourished is a range of disciplines including printed silks, for scarves and apparel, ( ascribing to the motto 'art worth wearing' ), wallpaper which is exclusively designed for each individual space, print designs for fabric and bedding, group exhibitions, painting & mural commissions,  always with committed focus on creating original artworks.

2022 sees Kate's first solo exhibition for many years at Mario's Cafe, Fitzroy March1-21
